▪ Agriculture is the main activity of the territory with a useful agricultural area of 144,850 hectares
▪ Intensive agriculture dominates the region, with cereal cultivation coming in first place, accounting for 64% of the area.
▪ Olive cultivation occupies an important place in the agricultural activity of the region, accounting for 23% of the surface area.
▪ Ouazzane Province is also a leader in sunflower production, 41% of production and 50% of the area of arable agricultural land is dedicated to this product.
▪ The region is also famous for its high-potential tourism with its 17th-century city, mountain ranges, shrines, hermitages and “shrines”. It is also an important spiritual capital for Sufism.
It is distinguished by its religious character, as it is a place of Islamic and Jewish pilgrimage, especially due to the presence of the tomb of the venerable Rabbi Imran bin Diwan, who died in 1780.
